Abbie Koenig

BA. Psych, M. Counselling and Psychotherapy

Abbie’s extensive experience spans the family violence sector, where she worked as a counsellor, intake practitioner, and Family Services Case Manager. In her current role at Huddle as Practice Lead, she has combined her expertise, and interests to develop and facilitate this training.

Before her time working in Family Violence Services, Abbie worked as a disability support worker in a wide array of settings, including therapeutic residential, commununity and respite care.

Abbie’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Applied Science, in Psychology, and a Masters of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Within this study, Abbie completed a research project in youth disability in a residential setting, which is something she’s had a passion in, for a long time.

Abbie’s other projects include directing youth programs and board governance, whilst her experience in family violence services gives her a strong trauma-informed, intersectional, and creative approach. Abbie values curiosity and learning what really matters to people, and how their strengths and voices can be empowered and celebrated.
